Wed 19 Jun to Fri 21 Jun – Fikiada on Kithnos Island

On Wednesday we went back to Sounion to meet with some friends for lunch, and later dinner.

We had a really rocky night at anchor whose only blessing was that we were up and out by 07:30 – destination Fikiada Bay on Kithnos, about 15NM away. It’s two fairly big bays separated by a natural sandbank. Our friends the day before recommended it and going on their photos we were in for a treat! Despite the promise of wind we motored the whole way, and the wind only picked up when were trying to anchor – typical!

It took us 3 attempts before we found a spot we were happy with, during one of which we had to fend off two very bolshy catamarans who tried to nick our spot. We certainly weren’t disappointed, the place was amazing! After watching another 20 boats come in and settle we rowed ashore and up to the church where we flew the drone. Next order of business was dinner overlooking the beach. Yeah, we know, we said we’d cut back on our meals out. Maybe from tomorrow 🙂

This morning, once most of the boats had left we re-anchored Bini putting her in a better spot. We’re in 3.5m of water so there’s no chance anyone can come behind us. We took a walk along to the next bay had a coffee and wandered back. This afternoon we had lunch (making use of the solar cooker) and caught up on the Captain’s Logs. We’re doing really poorly at keeping up to date – we promise to try harder. It’s just that we’re so busy! :p
