Cam & Tom's Sailing Blog

Tue 31 Jul

After spending a few days at anchor we were both itching to get some sailing done. The forecast didn’t look very promising (not much wind), but we set out anyway. Just as I was about to settle in for the motor out of the anchorage a bunch of alarms made me leap from my seat. Turns out I hadn’t really paid attention when engaging the auto pilot and we were heading straight for some submerged rocks. I managed to avoid beaching the boat with a quick evasive manouver, and once my heart rate was below 200 again we set a course for Isola Rossa.

About an hour into our journey we found some wind and set the gennaker sail. We’re still a bit careful with this big sail after our somewhat disastrous sail in Menorca, but managed to hoist it without any shouting. What followed was a fantastic sail to Isala Rossa. The wind was light but enough to make 6 knots, and the sea was flat like a mirror. Conditions don’t not get much better than that! We anchored in Isola Rossa with the whole anchorage to ourselves.

  • Ist ja gar nichts aufregendes passiert. Aber tolle Landschaftsbilder?

  • Immer schön aufpassen und bitte nicht auf Steine oder Felsen fahren?
