Today we had a nice relaxing day in Fornells. It’s a lovely deep bay where you can anchor or pick up a mooring ball. My rather pessimistic side leads me to believe they’re more of a money making scheme rather than their stated purpose of protecting the posidonia (the weed found in the Med). There are conflicting opinions about whether anchoring kills off the weed or whether actually the anchors act much like a plough in crop fields and actually help cultivate it. More on that another time 🙂

We noticed that the lines connecting us to the mooring were chafing on the anchor, so with that fixed we got in the dinghy and went ashore. We had a nice stroll around this very sleepy village, had a spot of lunch and headed back to the boat.

This afternoons job was to take another look at why the furler swivel wasn’t swivelling. We rinsed it out with some hot water which seemed to unclog it and (for now) it spins like a charm. Let’s hope it lasts.

All in all, a nice relaxing and uneventful day.
