Fri 2 Aug to Sun 4 Aug – Days in Paros

Despite Friday apparently being a day on which nothing can happen we thought we’d make the most out of being near civilization and get some washing done. Also, you couldn’t move in the heads anymore due to the laundry growing out of the basket! We found a laundry shop then went to print some paperwork to get the insurance to pay for the damage that we sustained in Syros. The rest of the day we just hung out, still a bit pooped from the sail up here. And of course, as had become custom by now, we popped over to Phil’s for a sundowner before heading into town together for dinner. We finished the evening with a little dinghy race, and I have to say to my astonishment, Phil’s electrical engine kept his dinghy just in front of us. Or, was it weight related? I know I shouldn’t have had the extra chicken souvlaki!

We didn’t do much on Saturday, other than saying good bye to Phil who was off towards Turkey, and having dinner with Erwin. There was a bit banter between Erwin and Camilla over who would get the last of the restaurants seabass, which I think Camilla won. So she got the fish that she wanted, but unfortunately started feeling sick pretty soon after we’d finished eating. She spent most of the night feeling pretty ill, which continued into a Sunday by which time she’d also got a fever. By the time I was done cleaning the boat, she started feeling miraculously better (bit suspect?!) and we were ready to welcome our friend Cass onboard.

  • Die deutsche Übersetzung ist wieder herrlich. Ich zitiere: “Den Rest des Tages haben wir rumgehangen und immer noch ein bisschen vom Segel hier oben gekackt”?
